The Mount Nelson Hotel, known as the "Pink Lady," got its name after being painted pink to celebrate the end of World War I, a tradition that continues today. The hotel opened in 1899 with the dream of being a luxurious destination for first-class passengers and has since hosted numerous world leaders and celebrities, including Queen Elizabeth II, the Dalai Lama, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (who held spiritualist seances there), and John Lennon. During the South African War, it housed wealthy refugees and military staff, and a special palm-lined driveway was built to welcome the Prince of Wales in 1925

The décor was understated and elegant, with black bows adding a timeless and fun touch that echoed the playful bow on Clara’s second dress by Kobus Diepenaar, tying the look together with a whimsical and charming flair for the evening.
